No Changes

After being away from Padres baseball for almost 2 weeks I have found that absolutely nothing has changed; the deficiencies on the roster and in the lineup are the exact same. With a rotation that includes Jake Peavy, Chris Young, Greg Maddux, and a very solid Randy Wolf the Padres offense would have to be terrible to be 10 games back the first week of May...and they are! The Padres have the worst offense in baseball, and they are wasting a solid rotation. According to ESPN, the Padres not only sit at the bottom of the NL West, but reside in the cellar in the entire Major Leagues.

The FriarForum Founding Fathers had severe reservations about the weary this 2008 Padres team was constructed, and our greatest fears have come true: the team that looked old, slow, and without power is in fact all three of those and much...less!

Its a long season, and the Friars typically have put together strong May records, but its tough to get excited about this particular team taking the field; let Chase Headley get a free looksie at a seasons worth of how big leaguers are going to pitch to him. Towers, , give us something; what's the worst that can happen?

Friar First's:

As previously noted FF has welcomed in the newest Padres fan, Derek Tyler to FF. The results are in and D. Tyler has become the cutest Padre fan in the world. This voting was started and completed by Tyler's Uncle Scotty!
