Friars Pen Henn Off Waivers

The Padres continue their busy day by claiming 27 year old lefty Sean Henn off waivers from the New York Yankees.Henn has Major League experience making 36 appearances with the Yanks over the last 3 seasons. The southpaw has made 5 big league starts, but figures to make his mark in the bullpen joining what seems to be 10 other lefties. Henn has enjoyed great success this season twirling out of the bullpen in the minors with an ERA under 1 (0.81). A move will need to made to clear a spot for the hurler. FF thinks Justin Germano may have not only lost his spot in the rotation, but also on the roster.

Lefty Love

For years it was common for the Padres to have an all right handed bullpen with only the Eddie Oropesa's of the world tossing with the left hand. The Bud Black era has seen an incredible shift in the make up of the pen with 5 southpaws and just 3 right handers. The list here includes Sean Henn and not Germano. The lefty list could grow when Justin Hampson is healthy enough to come off the DL. FF could care less about the the arm throwing as long as the balls being tossed are for strikes and outs.
