Frairs Take Advantage of Brewer Errors
Jack Cassel lasted just 4 2/3 innings, but the Padres took advantage of five Brewer errors on the way to scoring 4 unearned runs to win 9-5 Thursday night. Joe Thatcher pitched an impressive 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Scott Hairston continued his hot streak with by adding 3 RBIs while Khalil Greene took over the team RBI lead by knocking in a pair to bring his season total to 93. Kevin Kouzmanoff's 20 game streak of reaching base came to an end.
The victory kept the Friars 2 back of DBacks in the NL West and a game up on both Colorado and Philadelphia in the Wild Card.
