Black Sunday II
The Padres lose, not taking advantage of the opportunity to control their own destiny while keeping Jake Peavy lined up to open a Division Series. The Chargers go to 1-3 by generally stinking. I don't have anything left in me to write about this.
Message to both teams: Your fans want their last two Sundays back.
Seriously, I feel violated.

I'd also like to note that the DBack's inability to finish off the Rockies just increases my distaste for that franchise.

Hey,
You guys can do your own work - you'll have to forgive us for not doing everything possible to help you get into the playoffs. If you had won against the Brewers, you wouldn't be in this situation. If you hadn't gotten swept by the Rockies a couple weeks ago, you wouldn't be in this situation. If your manager hadn't gotten greedy and started Peavy on 3 days rest against the Dbacks, you wouldn't be in this position. If your Left fielder hadn't stepped on your center fielder's hand and then had an emotional on-field meltdown of Hulk levels while tearing up his knee in the process of trying to physically overpower his own manager, you wouldn't be in this situation. All that being said - I would much rather see the Padres win tonight - you don't have a chance in the NLDS without Peavy. Having to waste him tonight because you couldn't beat an NL Central tram that barely managed to break .500 for the year simply dooms you to another opening round collapse. So for tonight only - Go Padres!
